The Biotar / Helios-style design (6 elements in 5 groups) is valued for its smooth background rendering and strong light-gathering capability, complemented by a wide f/1.7 maximum aperture and a 6-blade iris for smooth bokeh. It accepts 52mm screw-in filters and tips the scales at 230g. I have personally used and tested this lens.
